Paul Mobley is a portrait photographer known for creating images that are as intimate as they are timeless. Equal parts director and collaborator, he has a rare ability to connect quickly with his subjects, putting them at ease and allowing authentic moments to emerge. With experience photographing everyone from Amy Schumer to Zac Brown, Mobley brings confidence, curiosity, and a willingness to take creative risks to every shoot—resulting in portraits that feel fresh, honest, and deeply human.

Whether working with a celebrity promoting a new project or a 100-year-old farmer honoring a family legacy, Mobley approaches each subject with the same goal: to capture the soul of the person in front of the lens. His work spans corporate, advertising, and editorial photography, alongside a celebrated body of personal projects.

Mobley has published four photography books with Welcome Books: American Farmer, Everyday Heroes, If I Live to Be 100, and American Firefighter. For each project, he traveled across the United States, photographing ordinary Americans living extraordinary lives in their hometowns. A traveling exhibition of American Farmer continues to tour museums and colleges nationwide through 2025.

In 2027, International Arts and Artists, in association with Paul Mobley, has announced a second traveling exhibition and national museum tour inspired by his acclaimed portrait photography. Titled If I Live to Be 100: Centenarian Portraits, the exhibition features full-scale portraits of remarkable Americans who have celebrated their 100th birthdays. 

In 2026, Mobley will receive an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

Splitting his time between New York and Los Angeles, Mobley lives with his wife, Suzanne, their rescued shar-pei, Jessie, and their two daughters, Camden and Paige. Outside of photography, he enjoys traveling—especially to Mexico---sampling tequila, and visiting Michigan for his mother’s Italian cooking.
